Most of my work happens in tools people don't get to choose. A hospital operator on her ninetieth call. An ops team with fourteen tabs open. Nobody screenshots these screens, they just live in them, eight hours a day.

That's the work I want. I'm good at sitting with the mess long enough to find the one structural decision that makes twelve screens simpler. I know my job is done when people just move through without getting stuck, when the design is invisible.

I got into this through industrial design, briefly torn between furniture and jewellery. I went the jewellery route, ended up running production as a silversmith and production manager, and eventually found UX because it's the same problem at a different scale: understanding how systems work, where they break, and how to fix them for the people inside them.

How i work
Start where it hurts.
I go find the workaround people already invented, the sticky note, the external notepad, the group chat. That's the real spec.

I spend a lot of time making things with my hands and baking is the main one. Cookies, cinnamon rolls, focaccias, brownies. It's the opposite of screen work in the best way: something physical, something you can hold, something that comes from the same place as jewellery-making and furniture and all the other things I've built over the years. I also travel whenever I can and I'm happiest when I'm trying something I haven't done before.
